Encore Swim Team Information
Encore Swim Team is a Summer competitive race team in San Jose. Swimmers from the ages of 5 to 18 participate in swim practices & swim meets from May through July each year. Although we are a competitive team, we are known for our fun, family & enthusiastic environment!
REGISTRATION
Registration is open April 1 - May (the start of the season) for $445/swimmer. Immediate family members receive a $20/swimmer discount ($425).
If you refer a friend or classmate that has not participated as an Encore Swimmer in the past two years, your will receive a $25/family referral! Please have them include your name in their Registration.
Registration Costs - While we understand that summer plans may overlap the swim season, there are no partial payments or refunds. If your summer plans require you to miss more than half the season, please email [email protected] regarding how to fulfill your volunteer requirements.
Online registration must be completed and ALL registration checks and volunteer deposit checks must be turned in before a swimmer can participate in the practices and meets.
REQUIRED GEAR
Team Swim Suits - Every swimmer must have a team suit to wear for swim meets. They are available for purchase online in our team store, or when you register. We will have a few sizes available during the first 2 weeks of practice if you would like to have your swimmer check their size prior to purchase.
Swim Caps - Girls and boys with long hair must wear swim caps during practice. All swimmers must wear swim caps for Swim Meets. We encourage all swimmers to purchase a red Encore Swim Team Swim cap.

Practice Equipment - All swimmers will need a kickboard for practice. While we have a few Encore kickboards to share, we encourage you to purchase one for your child. Hand paddles (example) and, less frequently, pull buoys, will also be used by 8U and older. These all can be purchased on the SwimOutlet website.
PRACTICE
Practices are 4 days a week – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday
Practice may be cancelled around holiday periods. Please refer to specific season schedules for details.
Swimmers will swim with their age group at practice unless prior arrangements are made with their coach. If your child is in another sport, please notify the coach when he/she will attend practice.
Please be prompt when dropping off and picking your child up at practices. We start practice laps on time, and we require our coaches to be focused on swimmers in the water at all times. It is not fair for a coach to have to wait for a child to be picked up.
We are guests at the Encore Pool. We need to abide by the pool rules and be respectful of the property and the neighbors in the community.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Encore Board - Encore is an entirely volunteer-run swim team. Its board members are just like you and any other engaged parent on the team - they want the season to be a great experience for all of the swimmers and parents.
In addition to their responsibilities on the Board, Board members will act as Meet Directors, organize the Practice Meet, act as Swim Team Liaison with the School District, and represent the team at the Valley Aquatic League meetings.
Swim Team File Box & Swimmer Folders - There is a Swim Team File Box, which is available at swim practices everyday after the first week. Each family will have a folder. This is where you will receive important information such as swim times, ribbons, etc. Please check your file regularly after meets start.
