Encore Swim Team

Encore Swim Team is a summer competitive race team in San Jose that practices at Pioneer High School.  Swimmers from the ages of 5 to 18 participate in Mon-Thurs evening swim practices & Saturday swim meets from May through July each year.  Although we are a competitive team, we are known for having a fun, supportive family environment!

Registration is open for our May 4 - July 20 Season!

Practices start Monday, May 6! 

Tryouts for new swimmers will be Saturday, May 4, 10am-12pm at Pioneer High School.  For liability purposes, you must be registered to tryout!

NEW SWIMMERS

Has your swimmer not yet swum on a team, or is he/she not really sure how to swim all of the strokes? No problem, they'll learn!  We have a great group of coaches, particularly for our younger ages, and they'll all be swimming all four strokes by the end of the season.  The only thing your child will need to do is join us at tryouts and swim across the pool (one length, any attempted stroke) unassisted to make the team! (In the event that your swimmer does not pass, your registration will be fully refunded).     

EXPERIENCED SWIMMERS

The summer is a great opportunity for any swimmer, particularly those interested in water polo and swim team, to practice, compete and strength skills.  We encourage participation in all of the Saturday meets, and look forward to seeing our swimmers improve their times and technique as they get closer to the final Champs meet in July!

PRACTICE

Unlike many other swim teams, we practice in the late afternoon/evening hours (after work) and you do not need to be associated with a Cabana club to participate!

Practices are 4 days a week – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday.

We encourage you to come to all practices and meets, but it's up to you to decide what is best for your swimmer and your summer schedule. 

5:00pm - 6:00 pm 5-8 year olds *

6:00pm - 7:00 pm 9-12 year olds. *

7:00pm - 8:00 pm 13-18 year olds

* Note: Based on feedback from our parents and coaches, we have moved our 9-10s to 6-7pm to better accommodate the number of swimmers in the pool.  We will plan to keep the above times unless we see very different age group counts this season.  

Swimmers will swim with their age group at practice unless prior arrangements are made with their coach. If your child is in another sport, you can work with the coach to determine when he/she will attend practice.

We had some tired swimmers after our swim-a-thon, but pies-in-the-face for our coaches made it worth it!
